		<description>It depends on the condition of the tooth and the surrounding tissues.  Extraction sites tend to heal very quickly because there is such an excellent blood supply to the head.  She probably won&#39;t need any more pain meds than over-the-counter stuff if that.  Assuming there are no other complications, she should heal well!  Make sure they give you post-extraction instructions in case you have questions after she&#39;s home.

However, it&#39;s REALLY important that a space maintainer is placed there.  She won&#39;t be getting a permanent molar for another 2 years if it&#39;s a first molar or 8 years if it&#39;s a second!  If that space isn&#39;t kept open, there won&#39;t be room for the new tooth and that causes a lot of problems (may even require extensive surgery or orthodontics.)&lt;br&gt;&lt;b&gt;References : &lt;/b&gt;&lt;br&gt;Dental student</description>

They put her completely under for the procedure &#038; she stayed all day &#038; evening in th children&#39;s hosp. She only used children&#39;s tylenol or motrin when released &#038; only drank her milk for several days so yes it will hurt but not any longer than for an adult.&lt;br&gt;&lt;b&gt;References : &lt;/b&gt;&lt;br&gt;</description>
